Adult Learning Forums
A special Learning Forum program is offered for Adults during the regular Sunday School hour.  Topical studies on a variety of subjects are offered through the school year.


Sunday school kicks off on the first Sunday after Labor Day and generally concludes on the  Sunday before Memorial Day.


Small Groups


Advent has a number of small groups that meet for study and fellowship.  


LUNCH BUNCH usually meets the third Thursday of the month.  This group meets at the church and carpools to an area eatery for lunch and good conversation.


:   Pull up a chair in our church library on Thursday mornings and share in prayer, Bible study and service with the longest-running Bible study group at Advent.  This devoted and ever-evolving group of faithful women meet for the entire morning. Their time together includes fellowship,  writing of care cards, an extended time of intercessory prayer as well as lively and conversational Bible Study.    



The PRIME TIMERS Luncheon is a senior fellowship  group Luncheon held on the First Tuesday of each month from September through May.  The luncheon is either a potluck at the church facility or a local restaurant.  A variety of programs  and speakers follow the meal, along  with good conversation.


Adult Fellowship Activities


Advent is blessed with an active and creative Fellowship Committee  It offers a wide variety of fellowship opportunities which include:

  • Vineyard tours
  • Golf Outings 
  • Thrivent sponsored Chiefs Baseball games
  • Peoria Rivermen Hockey games
  • Annual Picnic at the end of the Summer
  • Hay rack rides
  • Lefse making party
  • All church Thanksgiving Feast 
  • A Christmas Tea for church women and their daughters
  • Dinner and plays at Eastlight and Conklin Barn theaters.
